  • Last thing for the day, promise :)

A note on how to use the site, for those who are unfamiliar. You can click on the comments section under each entry. It will either show a number (e.g. 2 comments) or say "add comment". If it has a number, others have commented and you can read them and add to them if you click on it. Or you can just add a new thread of comments if no one has yet.

Also, we have some options with the food. The guy said if it made the difference between us coming or not, then they would let us cook our own some. They prefer to cook more than one meal a day, because someone has to make a special trip. He believes that we can't make our own food for cheaper than they are cooking, and he may be right, who knows. He said he could give us the option of a 'sack lunch' if we wanted to be out and about, which would be less money than the listed lunch price. So my thought is that we could plan on Kevin and I providing all the fruit, baking and cold cereal for morning, and then hiring them to do sack lunch and dinner. Let me know your thoughts.

Kevin and I plan to provide a ridiculous amount of homemade snacks, and as much watermelon, peaches, etc as you can eat. We will not feel we have succeeded unless every last person ends up with diarrhea!!! It is watermelon and peach season then, and it will also be wild blackberry season out there, with lots of them around the campsite. We also plan on mooring our boat at Devils Lake, which is about 5 more miles down the road toward Lincoln City. We can plan to wakeboard, tube, kneeboard, waterski, etc to your heart's content.
  • Forgot, sorry

Meant to tell all of you that Rozella is my co-captain in this endeavor, so I have tried to keep her updated with anything new. If you have any questions, you can call me, or Zell.
  • Let's see if this works!

So now we wil see how challenged we all are! Please add comments, or new postings with opinions and comments about the campout plans. Those of you (Mark's girls :) that are more talented at xanga, please feel free to edit this page to make it more user friendly. Hope this works. Ter
  • My First Post

All right, here is the update on the campout 2008. Enclosed is the camp information again for your viewing pleasure. I need definitive feedback from EVERYONE regarding how many nights (2 or3), and what dates we want to start with. Our options are checking in 4pm Sunday or Monday (August 17th or 18th). Please include everyone in your response so you can see what others are thinking.

The deal is that I will need to collect the deposit by the end of the month to solidify our reservation. At Dad and Mark's recommendation, the plan is that everyone will send a portion of the deposit. If we are booking 3 nights, the deposit is $600, so my calculation is that we each contribute $50 based on the following family units contributing: myself, David, Jennifer, Christy, Bill, Eva, Philip, Charity, Rueben, Rozella, Naomi, Mark. I did not include Karen Joy or Kent, because I am not sure if they are able to make it. This $50 will be then subtracted from your total due at checkin.
